1. The service
Synetra is a platform that connects students with verified mentors and provides tools for messaging, meetings, sharing materials, tasks, quizzes and progress tracking, under the oversight of programme administrators. We provide the platform; the mentoring itself is delivered by mentors, and we do not guarantee any particular educational or career outcome.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information and keep it current. One person, one account.
- You are responsible for your password and for everything done under your account. Tell us immediately at support@synetra.com if you suspect misuse.
- Administrator accounts are provisioned by us or by your institution; they cannot be self-registered.
- We may suspend or deactivate an account that breaches these terms, after notice where practicable.
3. Mentor verification
- To be matched, a mentor must complete onboarding and be approved by an administrator. Approval is at the administrator’s discretion and may be withdrawn.
- You warrant that the identity, qualification and experience documents you upload are genuine and yours. Submitting false documents is grounds for immediate removal and may be reported.
- Your maximum student capacity is set by an administrator. You may decline any assignment request.
4. Your content
- You keep ownership of what you upload or write. You grant us a licence to store, display, transmit and process it as needed to run the service, including applying watermarks to shared materials and generating certificates.
- Mentors warrant they have the right to share any material they upload. Students may use shared materials for their own learning only and may not redistribute them.
- We may remove content that is unlawful, infringing, abusive or outside the purpose of the platform.
5. Assessments and integrity
- Quizzes and tasks are set and graded by mentors using platform tools. Scores and grades are shown to the student, their mentor and administrators.
- During quizzes the platform records behavioural telemetry described in the Privacy Policy and produces an advisory integrity score. Any action taken on it is a decision of your mentor or institution, not the platform.
- Attempting to obtain answer keys, automate attempts, or interfere with the quiz interface is a breach of these terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten or discriminate against any user, or share content that is unlawful, sexually explicit or hateful;
- solicit users off-platform for paid services in a way your institution prohibits, or share personal contact details of minors;
- probe, scan or test the platform’s security, bypass access controls, or scrape data;
- upload malware, or files that infringe someone else’s rights;
- use the platform for anything other than mentorship and learning.
7. Certificates and reviews
Completion certificates are issued when a mentor or administrator closes an engagement as complete. They confirm participation on Synetra and are not an academic qualification. Reviews must be honest and about the engagement; we may remove reviews that are abusive or fabricated.
8. Availability and changes
We aim for high availability but the service is provided “as is” and may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may change or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
9. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Synetra is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of data caused by your own actions, or the conduct of any mentor or student. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim, or, if nothing was paid, to the minimum permitted by law. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Termination
You may close your account at any time by writing to us. Sections 4, 5, 9 and 11 survive termination. Engagement records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
