Structure for the guidance, none of the admin.
Bring your experience. Synetra handles verification, matching, scheduling and record-keeping, so the time you give goes into the student.
What we ask before you mentor.
Register as a mentor and you land on onboarding, not the dashboard. Fill in your organisation, designation, years of experience, expertise areas and domains; upload the documents below; submit. An administrator reviews everything and approves you, rejects with a reason, or asks for more. Until approval your account can only see onboarding and your profile.
Approval flips your account to active and makes you eligible for matching in the same moment.
Four uploads.
Everything you use once you are paired.
Materials
Upload a PDF or image once and share it with any subset of your students. See who has downloaded it and how many times. Every copy a student receives is watermarked with their name.
Tasks
Set work with a title, instructions, an optional due date and an optional linked material. Students submit a file, a note, or both. Grade out of 100 with feedback; reopen if you want a resubmission.
Quizzes
Build multiple-choice quizzes: difficulty, time limit, pass mark, per-question points, an optional explanation shown after grading. Assign with a due date and attempt limit. Review scores and integrity flags per student.
Meetings and notes
Schedule sessions with a link. Record topics covered and an action-item checklist; students tick items off between sessions.
Progress reports
Log a status (on track, at risk, completed) and a score against the engagement. Administrators use these for engagement health.
Closure and certificates
Mark an engagement complete when the goal is met. A certificate is generated and delivered to the student; the record stays readable to you.
How students reach you.
You do not browse for students and students do not browse for you. For each unassigned student the engine scores every approved mentor with free capacity on expertise overlap, domain match, availability, headroom and current load. An administrator confirms a suggestion and it arrives under Requests with the student’s domain and the match score. Accept or decline; declining is silent and costs nothing.
Your rating, from student reviews after an engagement closes, breaks ties between otherwise equal mentors.
The number you never exceed.
On the integrity score
Every quiz attempt arrives with a 0–100 score and a list of flags: finished faster than the questions can be read, left the tab five times, pasted text, answers 95% identical to another student’s including the same wrong ones. The most trustworthy signals are the ones the server measures itself (wall-clock time, reloads, peer overlap); client-side telemetry is sanity-checked against them. Nothing is failed automatically. The score exists so you know which attempts to ask about.
Before you apply.
How much time does it take?
That is between you and the programme. The platform assumes roughly one session per week per student plus asynchronous review of tasks and quizzes; it does not enforce a schedule.
Can I mentor across more than one domain?
Yes. List every domain and expertise area you are comfortable with. The engine matches on overlap, so a broader profile draws a broader set of students.
Who sees my identity document?
Only administrators, during verification. Students see your name, headline, expertise, bio and rating.
What if a student is not engaging?
Log a progress report with status "at risk". Administrators see it on the engagement-health board and can intervene or reassign.
Can I edit a quiz after students have taken it?
No; results would no longer be comparable. Duplicate it into a new quiz instead. Quizzes with no attempts remain editable.
What do I do with an integrity flag?
Read the detail, then ask the student. Flags describe behaviour (fast answers, tab switches, answer overlap); they do not decide anything.
Ready to start?
Students join in a minute. Mentors are verified before their first match.
